Carlos Moya Brings Colour and memory back to Elephant and Castle.

Carlos Moya Brings Colour and memory back to Elephant and Castle.

BomGo is proud to spotlight the work of Carlos Moya, a talented visual artist and associate of our creative community, who has transformed a once-overlooked corner of Elephant and Castle with a powerful new mural.

Process of the mural at Bodeguita Deli, Elephant and Castle, London.

Painted on the rolling door of Bodeguita Deli, a beloved Latin American family business, the mural is a bold and beautiful reminder of the area’s cultural identity. Bodeguita Deli was once a thriving spot within the old shopping centre — a gathering point for the local Latinx community — before it was impacted by large-scale redevelopment that has reshaped the neighbourhood and displaced many long-standing businesses.

Carlos’s mural was commissioned by Latin Elephant, an organisation working to support Latin American communities in the face of gentrification. His artwork breathes new life into the space, offering not only visual beauty but also a deep emotional resonance — a public affirmation that the stories and presence of the community still matter.

This project was proudly facilitated by BomGo CIC, whose mission is to connect socially engaged artists with impactful opportunities across London. We’re honoured to have played a role in helping Carlos reclaim a piece of the public space — turning a shutter into a symbol of pride, memory, and resistance.
